It’s back with a vengeance!
The Cage Live is returning to San Jose, Costa Rica from August 16th to 19th. This is the uber-popular cash game in a time-based tournament format. This multi-day event sees the action skyrocket as the blinds increase to nosebleed stakes.
At least 36 players will head to Costa Rica and stay at the beautiful Sheraton Hotel. The festivities will start at the player party on Wednesday, August 16th at 8:30pm at the Arde rooftop bar. We supply the drinks! The Cage Live will then be held at the Sheraton’s newly-expanded poker room.
Here’s how you qualify:
Online Satellites
Nine packages (36 total) are guaranteed during each $95 buy-in Beast satellite:
• Sunday, July 9th at 6:05pm ET
• Sunday, July 16th at 6:05pm ET
• Sunday, July 30th at 6:05pm ET
• Sunday, August 6th at 6:05pm ET
Package breakdown ($8,700 value):
• 1 Cage Live buy-in ($5,250)
• Airfare allotment ($800)
• Spending cash ($1,000)
• Money for cash games ($400)
• 5-night double occupancy stay (August 15th-20th) at the Sheraton Hotel
• Airport Transportation
• Complimentary breakfast

Live Event Satellites in Costa Rica on Wednesday, August 16th and Thursday, August 17th. Players can earn an additional buy-in for the following Day 1.
• Start Time: 7:00pm
• Beginning Chip Stack: 5,000
• Buy-in: $440
• Blind levels: 12-minute blinds
• 2-hour late registration
Cage Live details:
• Players buy in for $5,250 and get 5,000 in chips.
• Blinds get bigger throughout the event, just like in a tourney.
• If knocked out, player can rebuy once per Day 1 flight.
• Players may take part in multiple Day 1 flights and combine their stack to use for Day 2.
• When Day 2 is over, players cash in their chips at a 1-to-1 ratio. For example, if you have 10,000 in chips, you walk away with $10,000.
• Players can’ t cash out until Day 2 is complete. Thus the “Cage” name.
Day 1 schedule (Wednesday to Friday)
• Buy-in for $5,250 and get 5,000 in chips. $250 is the registration fee
• Re-enter or top up stack in any Day 1 flight for $5,250. You get 5,000 more in chips
• Two 3-hour levels
o Start Time: 1:00pm
o Level 1: $15/30 – $5 Ante
o 30-minute break
o Level 2: $25/50 – $5 Ante
o End Time: 7:30pm
Day 1 Completion
• Players take chips they finish Day 1 with into Saturday’s Day 2. All players who earn chips on Day 1 have to play on Day 2.
• If eliminated from Day 1, players can play more Day 1s for a $5,250 buy-in, getting $5,000 in chips. Remember they can also re-enter or top-up on each Day 1.
• Players can take part in any Day 1 even if they are qualified for Day 2.
• Day 2 starting stack is the total chips from all the Day 1’s. Example: finish Wednesday’s Day 1 with 8,000 in chips, and Thursday’s Day 1 with 9,000 in chips, then the Day 2 starting stack is 17,000 in chips).

• Three 3-hour levels
• Start Time: 11:00am
• Level 1: $40/80 – $10 Ante
o 30-minute break
o Level 2: $50/100 – $10 Ante

o Level 3: $75/150 – $15 Ante

The first ever nosebleed stakes cash game in time-based tournament has drawn to its exciting conclusion and our inaugural Cage Live Event was a huge success.
We had a total of 21 entrants either qualify via satellite or cough up the $5,250 buy-in to compete in the inaugural event. Out of 21 players who started the day yesterday, only a total of 10 players managed to grind out a payday in the end, some with some pretty noticeable scores.

Terms and Conditions
- A Cage Live package has zero cash value.
- A Cage Live package is transferable but you must contact tickettrade@winningpokernetwork.com.
- Package winners must use it for the next Cage Live event. If you don’t attend the next Cage Live or sell it, the package will be forfeited.
- If a winner wants to sell their package, it’s their sole responsibility to find a buyer. WPN will not buy the package or help facilitate its sale. WPN only helps facilitating the transaction once both parties have agreed to it and confirmed.
- Cash winnings in the Cage Live are deposited into the WPN’s player account.
- Winners must book their own fight to and from San Jose, Costa Rica.
- Any decisions of the Tourney Director for Cage Live events are final.
- To coordinate transportation, organizers must receive itinerary at least (3) business days before date of arrival.
- If a player wins multiple packages, they only get the spending money for 1 package at a time. Further spending money will be allotted during each Costa Rica visit.
- Complimentary breakfast is at the hotel.
- Players must pay for any additional expenses incurred.
- Cage Live will have a shot clock & players will all have Time Bank buttons.
- The Cage Live does not have late registration. To participate, the player must be seated by the time each day starts.
